With QUBEdocs 4.0 it is possible to automate regular snapshots of your models regardless of whether you are on the cloud, on-premise or using a hybrid approach.
The approaches are discussed below:
QUBEdocs Cloud to Planning Analytics (or TM1 on the Cloud)
Documentation generations between Planning Analytics and QUBEdocs Cloud can be scheduled easily by following the process below.
1. Create an FTPS based connection to your model in QUBEdocs Cloud.
Notice: The FTP connection option will be deprecated soon. Please see here for more information.
Note that for Planning Analytics on cloud connections, details will be included in the IBM PA welcome pack or additional credentials can be requested through IBM support. The remote path will be in the following format: ftps://
Note: (QUBEdocs Cloud currently supports Port 21 for FTPS connections. Contact QUBEdocs Support if you have different port requirements)
We recommend setting the schedule to weekly and setting a time when your TM1 server is not in high demand. More details on this here
2. Schedule the QUBEdocs Package Creator process in a chore
Create a chore and schedule the QUBEdocs Package Creator process within. Include the as the ".\" as the parameter value so that the package is written directly to the data directory.
Note: You will want to ensure that this chore is executed well before the time that you used in step.
3. Set up your connection to use the REST API
More information on this approach can be found here
QUBEdocs Cloud to Planning Analytics Local (or TM1)
The recommended process for automating regular generations when using Planning Analytics or TM1 on Premise is documented here
