QUBEdocs provides a powerful search which can be used to search structures, names, scripts and various other areas of the TM1. Both simple and complex searches can be performed and queries can even be saved so that they can be used later.
Simple Searches
Simple searches can be performed by typing the appropriate search term into the dialog box at the top of the screen or by selecting the specific area in the drop-down.
Advanced Searches
Alternatively, the "Advanced Search" button at the top of the screen can be selected. The advanced search allows the user to enter a specific query by defining which category to search in the drop down menus e.g. Cubes, Dimensions, Processes, Chores, etc. This can be refined further by selecting the levels of that category e.g. Cube Rules and Cube Views or even further to check for fields/categories containing certain words or terms, as well as adding any additional search conditions that might be required. The user can then click 'Search' to display the results.
Whichever method is used, the search results are displayed at the bottom of the page. These are organised into the specific search groups and organized by object name. The items that have been matched are highlighted. From the search results area, users can simply select the matched name to navigate to the appropriate area in the documentation.
Note:
- In some cases, only the first match is reported.
- The search is very comprehensive and results can only be drilled down further by clicking on the hyperlinks in the results.
Definitions for each of the search groups and categories are given below. Note that each category also has specific fields that can be searched (e.g. rule file, epilog process, data source type etc.)
Query Builder Groups, Categories and Fields
The following table illustrates the type of information that is available for searching via the query builder. Note that key relationships to other objects can also be searched.

Saved Search Reports
Searches can be saved so that they can be retrieved later with minimal effort. In fact, there are even a number of pre-saved search reports which are available via the Saved Search Queries option in the Advanced Search tab. These are useful reports that can be used when reviewing the quality of TM1 models and alignment with current best practice.
Base reports can be selected and run by using the Refresh button and existing reports can be removed if they are not longer required
To modify an existing report, select the base report and then change the search query in the Query Builder tab. Once you are happy with the results, select the save icon under the saved search queries and navigate to the 'Overwrite' tab, then select the query that you want to replace. Select OK to commit.
To save a new report, follow the above steps until just after selecting the save icon but navigate to the 'Save As' tab instead. Simply select the Group that you want to organize the report into or Simply type a new group into the text field followed by the Description. Select OK to commit.
