Overview
QUBEdocs tags are a way to enhance the way you sort, search and describe your models. At the moment, we support tagging Chores, Cubes, Dimensions and Processes.
Managing Tags
In order to manage QUBEdocs Tags you will need to be given the permission Author in QUBEdocs Cloud or be an Admin in QUBEdocs Local. To manage tags or create your first select Manage Tags in the side bar.
Here, you will find a table that contains all Tags and which elements they apply to for in your model. You may create as many tags as you find useful.
Creating Tags
To create a Tag, click on Add
The Manage Tags window will pop up.
Give your Tag a name (required) and which element(s) it applies to (also required). Descriptions are not mandatory.
Please note: “Description” is a reserved Tag (explained in the Description Tag section).
Editing Tags
To edit a Tag, click on the Tag name in the table. The Manage Tags window will appear and you'll be able to alter the Description and which element(s) the Tag applies to. Renaming Tags is not possible.
Using Tags
Once you have created a Tag, navigate to an element that has the Tag applied to it. You can see your Tag(s) under the summary of information for each element.
To edit the Tag value, navigate to the top right and select “Edit Tags”:
The Tag value will now be editable:
Add a customized value for the Tag for the individual element and press “Enter”. The value will be saved. Turn “Edit Tags” off once you have added all the Tag values you wish to add.
Description Tag
The Description Tag is a reserved tag that applies to all elements. Currently, Descriptions for elements are found on the main table for each element type or on the individual element's page. If an element does not have a description set, the Description Tag will be available for that element.
Turn "Edit Tags" on and you will be able to edit the Description Tag via two main areas:
the main table for each element type, or
via the individual element.
Currently, it is not possible to edit existing descriptions for elements but we hope to add functionality to migrate these in the near future.
Search Tags
It is possible to search for Tag values using the search feature. Type in the value of the Tag that you wish to find and if a Tag with that value exists, it will appear in the Search Results.
