When moving from QUBEdocs Local to QUBEdocs Cloud, you may wish to export snapshots from your local environment into the cloud environment to preserve them or to utilise them for comparison purposes. This feature is available to users that are marked as admins of QUBEdocs Local.
Preparing your QUBEdocs Cloud connection
In order to utilise this feautre, the connection in QUBEdocs Cloud requires an API Token to be set. To do this, navigate to your connection and press the three dots on the top right and click to edit the settings. Navigate to the "Tokens" tab and create a new token (or use an existing one if it is not expired):
This token will be copied to your QUBEdocs Local connection.
Preparing your QUBEdocs Local connection
In QUBEdocs Local, navigate to the settings of the connection whose snapshots you wish to export. Under the "Advanced Settings" tab, paste the token that corresponds to the QUBEdocs Cloud connection:
Once this has been done, refresh the connections page and you will now see a "upload to cloud" button:
Clicking on this button will trigger the snapshot to be exported to QUBEdocs Cloud:
Once the snapshot has been successfully exported, you may browse it:
The icon on QUBEdocs Local will turn into a full cloud to show that the snapshot has been exported:
Notes
- The connection names do not need to match.
- The connection types do not need to match - it is possible to export from a file based QUBEdocs Local connection into a QUBEdocs Cloud API connection and vice versa.
